Summer brings the rainy season, although rainfall remains lighter than in other neighbouring countries. Warm temperatures, occasional storms and clear desert mornings create excellent photography and rewarding travel experiences.

Tips for summer travel in Namibia

The weather varies significantly between regions. The coast remains cool and foggy, while areas like Etosha, Damaraland and the central highlands experience hot days with short, refreshing showers. Pack clothing for warm weather, but include a jersey for the cooler coastal areas.
